U.S. Summer Travel: Full Flights, Delays
The last half-dozen or so flights I’ve taken inside the U.S. in recent weeks have been entirely full, or very nearly so. I’ve experienced some delays, but not the horrible ones that some people are having.
One thing for sure: No matter how frequent a flier you may be, you’re unlikely to get an upgrade this summer…
all my flights are full, too. can someone explain to me why the airlines are not making money and lots of it?
It’s been hit or miss for me. I’ve traveled once in June, twice in July, and once so far in August and I’ve gotten upgraded on half the flights. On the other hand, my last flight was the worst I’ve had in a long time and it was due to delays and mechanical difficulties which are all symptoms of busy travel.
Peter, to answer your question: The cost of labor at every level (unions).
