400 randomly-chosen Dopplr badges

As MattB said - it’ll remind people of a certain age (including us) of a ZX Spectrum loading screen…

  1. What’s the dark blue? London?

  2. What’s the cyan/ light blue? :)

  3. The 6 colours in the default Dopplr logo don’t correspond to any city in particular. I’ve had a stab at finding cities that correspond to the colours, but there aren’t any perfect matches. I’m afraid that the blue is just blue.

  4. What this image tells us is that most of the 400 Travellers selected ( randomly and anonymously I imagine? ) have fewer than 5-6 trips planned in the future.

Tom, perhaps another run with our top 400 most future-active Travellers would yield a more eclectic view?

Also, the first two comments above indicate a desire to see some sort of color-block visualization of the most active places as well… ;)

  5. Ah, I tried that, but it’s amazingly boring, because it’s just a random field of coloured boxes. I went with this one in the end because there’s a hint of underlying pattern.

  6. So, this is to say that the badge I publish on my blog holds random colours that also change randomly when I add/ finish trips? In that case, perhaps I should be able to decide, as a user, on some of the colours to (not) be seen.

  7. @gorgeoux - That’s a good point. I’ll fix things so that the badge will have default colours if you’re not sharing your future plans in the blog badge. Sorry about that.

  8. NP, that was amazingly prompt, and useful: just noticed it changed earlier and had to come check this post out :) Thank you!
