Some Good Heathrow News (for a change)

Heathrow’s one-bag carry-on restriction has been lifted, thank heavens. Now you can carry on your roller bag plus your computer case or other small bag separately.

Also, you no longer have to remove the computer from the bag. Seems that Heathrow has new gear that inspects it inside the case.

Anyway, small progress at an airport that has had its share of traveller woes…

  1. Still I had to take off my shoes and my belt on Friday evening. Which actually sucks more, I think.

  2. Cool, I can now resume my trips to the UK.

  3. Hopefully this will be the case for other UK airports as well… E Midlands airport still has the one-bag carry-on restriction as far as I know.

  4. […] the traveller’s social networking site, has reported that Heathrow has changed it’s baggage restrictions. They have lifted the one bag carry on […]

  5. The restrictions changed in January, and the BBC has a list of airports where the one-bag limit is no longer in place. Notably, Gatwick is not on the list. As the BBC title says, “Cabin bag rules ‘could confuse’”.

Of course, the liquid limits introduced in the wake of the bomb plot (the accused are now, finally, on trial in London) are still in place.

  6. Hi there,

I’m an expat moving to Oz this summer, I came across this website for sending my luggage:

    http://www.packitsendit.com

Only costing me £270 to send three suitcases! thought I’d share that with you all. Should cut out all the luggage worried of Heathrow!

    dave.
